Job Description

The Global Payment Services team ensures the prompt and precise processing of all transactions for MUFG Investor Services worldwide. With teams in Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Limassol, Dublin, Halifax, and Toronto, they collaborate to handle client payments on a global scale. Reporting to the Executive Director, Middle Office Operations, Global Payment Services, you will:

• Lead, motivate and develop a high-performing team of payments professionals, across three locations, providing coaching, mentoring and performance feedback to team members.
• Oversee the entire payment operations lifecycle, such as processing, settlement, and investigating payments. The team ensures compliance with internal controls, regulatory and market requirements, and adheres to industry best practices for payment processing.
• Focus on implementing and maintaining efficient processes to enhance operational efficiency, reduce errors, and increase Straight-Through Processing (STP). Additionally, the team is tasked with building and managing relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, leading project workstreams, and managing the migration of payment-related activities from various internal teams.
• Take ultimate responsibility for investigating and resolving payment exceptions in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs), working with clients to address payment exceptions, managing the callback process for new beneficiaries, and acting as the ultimate escalation point for the team.
• Ensure critical issues are escalated promptly to senior stakeholders and that work is distributed fairly across the team. Collaboration with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders and work closely with internal teams like Treasury, Banking Operations, and Client Operations to meet all deliverables, use data to spot trends, potential risks, and opportunities to improve the division's operating model, and provide exceptional client service. Building strong client relationships is also a core focus.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of international payment processes, including clearing and settlement mechanisms.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements for payment processing (e.g. AML, KYC).
• Proven payment processing experience, preferably within a global banking environment.
• People management responsibilities and proven track record of leading and motivating high-performing teams.
• Data-driven approach Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
• Strong understanding of global payment processes, and familiarity with payment systems and online banking platforms.
• Solid understanding of Swift Payment processing, including payment formatting.
