As a Payment Reconciliation Specialist, you will be responsible for the reconciliation of payment providers, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills to manage and maintain comprehensive records, perform cost analysis, and address discrepancies.
Responsibilities
- Reconciliation of Payments
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations of payments from various providers
- Utilise Excel and other available tools to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and balanced
- Report Generation
- Create and maintain detailed reports for all Payment Service Providers (PSPs) offered by the company
- Develop and distribute regular reconciliation reports to relevant stakeholders
- Discrepancy Management
- Identify and analyse mismatches and discrepancies in payment records
- Collaborate with relevant departments to resolve discrepancies promptly
- Raise issues and follow up until resolution
- Record Keeping
- Maintain an organised history of all reconciliation reports and related documentation
- Keep detailed records of all transactions, including adjustments and corrections
- Cost Analysis and Fee Structures
- Perform regular cost analysis to identify areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements
- Monitor and analyse fee structures associated with different PSPs
- Provide recommendations for optimising payment processing costs
- Data Analysis and Reporting
- Analyse payment data to identify trends and patterns
- Prepare statistical reports and dashboards to provide insights into payment activities
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity in all reports and analyses
- Process Improvement
- Continuously evaluate and improve reconciliation processes and methodologies
- Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy in payment reconciliation
- Stay updated with industry trends and regulatory changes affecting payment reconciliation
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with the finance and operations teams to ensure alignment and accuracy in payment processing
- Provide support and training to team members on reconciliation procedures and tools
- Any additional tasks deemed necessary by management
Requirements
- Degree in accounting, business, or finance
- 4+ years of related work experience in the Finance/Forex industry
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
- Experience with Jira and Confluence
- Analytical and good communication skills
- Understanding high-risk industry in emerging markets would be an advantage
- Experience in creating reconciliation processes for a variety of payment providers
- Experience in setting up the process of monitoring payment providers' balances would be a plus
- Experience in setting IT tasks and explaining the business needs
