The role
As a Stores Operative, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Working as part of a multi-discipline operational output to a prestigious contract.

Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for all aspects of logistics and storage, including the provision of a contract warranty and quotation repair service, returns (quarantine) service, and assisting the procurement team in returning items to suppliers and customers.

Working alongside customers and other teams on site and supporting other operational teams when required.

  • To support the Stores Supervisor in the management of the stores function and to act as the Stores Supervisor’s deputy during their absence.
  • To interface with customers, suppliers, and colleagues to contribute to the smooth running of the stores functions.
  • To carry out Babcock asset audits and control project inventory database as directed by the stores supervisor.
  • Utilise the quarantine procedure for project-related goods in. These items must be controlled and stored so they cannot be taken back into circulation without valid test and calibration certification.
  • Liaise with the Installation Team Leaders and Project Managers for notification of delays to equipment returns, which may impact project delivery.
  • Responsible for the preparation, organization tasking, and completion of assigned stores activities. This includes the completion of all relevant documentation required by locations either in the UK or overseas.

This role is Full-time, 37 hours per week, and is based on site.

Essential experience of the Stores Operative

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with fellow stores team members, clients, and superiors.
  • Must possess relevant, practical experience in a related environment.
  • Must possess an adequate knowledge of and compliance with the Health and Safety policy and regulations consistent with their responsibilities as Logistics Support.

Qualifications for the Stores Operative

  • Minimum GCSE Maths and English

The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance for this role.
